The verb 'converge' has 'diverge' as its opposite. The first one refers to an emotional, intellectual, or physical movement that shows the will to concentrate, focus, or even shrink the size of a possible object, while the second one makes you think of moving away, opening up, widening, and extending in space.
'IL" implant belongs to the first type: it pairs a cylindrical body with a converging, focusing neck that takes up less space.
Scientific studies investigating human cell behavior show that the minimally invasive 'surgical insult' significantly improves the response of the tissues involved, and this is the main feature of this device; the convergence of 'IL,' in fact, concerns its coronal part, the one that 'interacts' with the periosteum, the connective tissue itself, and the epithelial tissue – in other words, with the three tissues that fight the 'daily battle' against bacteria, chewing trauma, and the constant stresses inherent in the chewing function.
Scientific studies agree on assigning the responsibility for the long-term success of prosthetic-implant work to the gum tissues. Those who use “IL”, a monolithic implant with a convergent neck, will notice that, even after many years, the surface tissues don’t shrink and remain solid and healthy with normal home care. For this to happen, the rules are clear: the rough part of the implant must be completely embedded in the bone, and its neck should be contained within the gum tissue.
The insertion technique can be learned, the procedure can be studied and anticipated, but only when we combine the manual and intellectual skills typical of Homo sapiens, then we will be hands that think, and when visiting our patients who were operated on some time ago and are still fully satisfied with our work, we can think with satisfaction: ‘I CONVERGE’
